MRS. H. R. BOYD

The death of H. R. Boyd at Pierre, S.D. on Mondy of last week was followed on Friday by the death of Mrs. Boyd. Consequently the funeral of Mr. Boyd which was announced to take place on Monday at Story City became the joint funeral of Mr. and Mrs. Boyd. The funeral under such circumstances was of especial note. It was held Monday afternoon at St. Petri church, Story City, and in charge of the Masonic Lodge of Ames of which Mr. Boyd was a member. Rev. L.J.U. Smay preached the funeral service. There was a large attendance from Ames and Nevada as well as Story City in all three of which places Mr. and Mrs. Boyd have lived and made many friends. Interment was in the Story City cemetery.

Mrs. Boyd, when her husband was believed to be improving, about three days before he died, went to the hotel at Pierre for needed rest. However, she began to fail and without developing any special ailment she simply grew weaker till she passed away on Friday as stated. Their son George Boyd and daughter Mrs. Luckett came with the bodies to Story City and were met at Ames by their sister Mrs. Hanna of Oregon and Mr. and Mrs. Spring of Udell. They are expected in Nevada this evening.
