THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Tuesday, September 14, 2010.

Daniel Leslie Goldman, 58, died Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2010, at Iowa City University Hospitals and Clinics following surgical complications.

He is survived by daughters Shannon (Goldman) Maaske and Susana Goldman; his son, Stephen Goldman; son-in-law Greg Maaske; grandchildren Ava (4) and Blake (1 1/2); four brothers Dennis, David, Darrell and Donald; and many close friends.

Born Jan. 20, 1952, and raised in Delta, the son of Clifford and Norma Maxine (Lisk) Goldman, he was a lifelong resident of Iowa.

In his early years, Mr. Goldman worked on the family’s farm with his four brothers. After graduating from Sigourney High School in 1970, he attended Central College, graduating in 1974 with a bachelor’s degree in biology. He then worked in business and construction in locations throughout Iowa.

After living in Creston and Ames, he settled in Boone for his remaining years. He will be remembered as having a great sense of humor, a large heart and a very strong will.

A family viewing was held at Gay and Ciha Funeral Home in Iowa City on Sept. 10. A memorial fund was established in Daniel’s name at U.S. Bank. Online condolences may be sent for his family through the web at www.gayandciha.com.
