Virgil Sterling Woster, 84, died Friday, August 13, 2010 at the Israel Hospice House in Ames. Funeral services will be Wednesday, August 18, at 10:30 a.m. at Bethany Lutheran Church in McCallsburg, IA. Burial will be at the McCallsburg Cemetery after the service. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 17, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Bethany Lutheran Church in McCallsburg.

Virgil is survived by his wife of almost 63 years, Shirley (Twedt), their three children: Kenton (Jennifer) Woster ofNew Providence, Raylene (Harry) Fortney of Kelley and Valerie (Michal) Buns of Iowa City; eight grandchildren: Travis and Grant Woster, Ryan Fortney, Alissa (Bruno) Zugay, Andrew (fiance Brenda), Seth, Jonathan and Janaya Buns; two great-grandchildren: Jonathan and Kaitlyn Zugay; One brother: Carroll (Connie) Woster of McCallsburg.

Virgil was preceded in death by his parents Clarence and Clara Woster; brothers Loren Dale, Francis, Gordon, Marion; one sister Lois; one son, Raygene; one grandson, Nicholas Fortney; one great grandson, Ian Buns.

Virgil loved farming, woodworking, dancing, traveling, fishing, visiting with family and friends, and spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Fredregill Funeral Home of Zearing, Iowa is in charge of funeral arrangements.
