July 30, 1901-Nov. 5, 1990Lillie C. McCoy, 89, 420 E. Seventh St., died of heart failure Monday at Mary Greeley Medical Center. Services will be held Wednesday, Nov. 7, at 1 p.m., at Adams Funeral Home, with the Rev. Mark A. Wetteland officiating. Burial will be in Ames Municipal Cemetery.
Lillie Christiansen was born in Story City to Charles and Susan Christensen. She graduated from Story City High School. She lived her entire life in Story County and she was employed as a hotel manager in Ames. On Aug. 28, 1919, she married George W. McCoy in Des Moines. He died on May 2, 1950.
She was a member of Women of the Moose and Rebekah Lodge.
She is survived by one son, Robert W. McCoy of Des Moines; one daughter, Dorothy Ochanpaugh of Ames; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Elizabeth Brown, who died in 1985; and one sister, Hannah Holland.
Visitation will be today, from 3 to 8 p.m., with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m., with a memorial ceremony by Women of the Moose at 7 p.m., at Adams Funeral Home.
