Mrs. Nichols, 75, Succumbs at Home Hear
Mrs. Helen E. Nichols, 75, a resident of Ames for 24 years and mother of former City Attorney Roscoe E. Nichols, who died last April, died at 2 p. m. Tuesday at her home at 617 Eighth street.
Mrs. Nichols was taken ill Sunday and her death was attributed to a heart disease.
Mrs. Nichols was born in Grundy county, Ill., Dec. 1, 1860. She was married to the Rev. James E. Nichols June 14, 18982 at Odell, Ill. Following the Rev. Mr. Nichols and her two sons moved to Ames in June, 1912.
Surviving her are one son, Harold E. of Ames, one brother, Merton Pope of Odeh, Ill., and two sisters, Mrs. Grace Muzzy of Odell and Mrs. Ada E. Spring of Des Moines. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Frances Deinlein, Helen Louise and James Everett Nichols of Ames, children of R. E. Nichols who died April 13.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p. m., Wednesday from the Adams chapel, with the Rev. Walter Morgan of the First Methodist church in charge. Burial will be beside her husband in Perry.
