Funeral for W. H. Cook Held Monday
Funeral services for W. H. Cook, 83, who died Saturday noon at his home at 291? West street, were held at 2 p. m., Monday from the Adams chapel. Burial was in the Ames cemetery.
The Rev. A. R. McLaughlin of the Congregational church and the Rev. Walter Barlow of the Collegiate Presbyterian church were in charge of the service.
Mr. Cook was born in Berlin, Ill., Aug. 5, 1854. He was married to Martha Alexander of Mount Vernon, Ia., Dec. 30, 1891, and after living a short time in Charles City the family moved to Webster City.
During his 36 years in Webster City, Mr. Cook was in the music business and was active in promoting artist concerts in the city. When his health failed in 1931. Mr. and Mrs. Cook moved to Ames to be with their daughter, Rosalind, who is an instructor in the music department at Iowa State college.
Surviving, besides the wife and daughter her, are one sister, Mrs. W. H. Brown of Medford, Ore., a brother, Jesse Cook of Grandview, Wash.
