Jamey Lee Grady, 20, of Ames died Sunday of injuries sustained in an auto accident in Ames. Services are at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the First United Methodist Church, with the Rev. David Burling officiating. Jamey Lee Grady was born in Ames, the son of Deana and Ron Grady. Mr. Grady was employed as a general service technician at Crowner Tire. He was a resident of Ames all of his life.

Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Deana and Monte Toresdahl; father and stepmother, Ron and Pollyann Grady of Nevada; three brothers, Jeremy Grady, Zachary Toresdahl and Cody Toresdahl, all of Ames; three sisters, Christina Grady and Ashley Grady, both of Roland, and Mallory Toresdahl of Ames; grandparents, B. Dean Olson of Ames, Eleanor Olson of Ames, Clayton and Betty Haberkorn of Branson, Mo.,, and Gayle Grady of Story city; and great-grandmother, Gladys Grady of Stratford.

Visitation is from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at the Adams Funeral Home in Ames.

Ames man killed Sunday in car wreck

Jamey Lee Grady, 20, of Ames died early Sunday when he lost control of his car and rolled into a ditch north of Ames.

The accident happened a mile north of town on North Dakota Avenue. Grady, of 1301 Willowbrook Circle in the Southdale neighborhood, was headed north on the road when he lost control of his 1988 Cadillac Fleetwood at a curve.

Grady, who was not wearing a seat belt, was thrown from the car. He died from injuries at the scene.

Story County Sheriff's Capt. Penny Westfall said it was not immediately clear where Grady and a passenger, Joseph Paul Steenhoek, 20, were driving from or headed to. Steenhoek lives at 5201 543rd Ave., in the Arrasmith Trail neighborhood.

Steenhoek, who also was not wearing a seat belt, was treated and released for minor injuries at Mary Greeley medical Center

Westfall said a person who lived in the area called police at 12:16 a.m.
