Hilda “Jan” Johnson, age 79, born in Zearing, Iowa, passed away on June 17, 2010 at Lifecare Center of Gwinett, Lawrenceville, GA.

Mrs. Johnson graduated from Zearing Schools. She graduated from Westmar College, LeMars, Iowa and received her Masters Degree from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. She taught school in McCallsburg, Iowa; Oregon, California, Florida, Virginia and Georgia. She married Jesse Johnson on April 2, 1970 in Hawaii. Mr. and Mrs. Johnson made their home in Snellville, GA and traveled extensively worldwide. She is preceded in death by her sister, Lois Bohnker, Charter Oak, Iowa. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Jesse Johnson, Snellville, GA; sisters, Nell Keigan, Snellville, GA and Carole Gardner, Garden Grove, CA; and many nieces and nephews. She had a deep dedication to her family and to her 30-year career as an educator. She maintained life-long friendships with college and educator friends, was a member of PEO and Church Circle, and became accomplished at watercolor painting.

Funeral services were held on June 21, 2010 at the Presbyterian Church of the resurrection, Conyers, GA with graveside service at Hillcrest Cemetery, Sylvester, GA. Memorials to Presbyterian Church of the Resurrection, 3676 Hwy 20 NE, Conyers, GA 30012.
