THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Tuesday, July 13, 2010.

Juanita Johnson (Mrs. “Jude”), 81, of Bickford Cottage and formerly of rural Ames, died Friday evening, July 9, 2010, at Bickford Cottage in Ames. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 13, at Grandon Funeral and Cremation Care, 414 Lincoln Way in Ames. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 14, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 610 15th St., in Ames, with interment in Story Memorial Gardens in Ames.

Juanita was born Oct.13, 1928, in Nevada, the daughter of Marshall and Irene (Hall) Allen. She graduated from Ames High School in 1946. She married Julius “Jude” Johnson Dec. 9, 1950, in Des Moines. The couple moved southeast of Ames, where they had a dairy milking herd and farmed. She enjoyed dancing, golfing, bowling, beanie babies, cooking, traveling and visiting with friends and family and her love for her many dogs through the years.

She is survived by one niece, Tina Allen; and her beloved dog, Zoey; and numerous cousins, extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, “Jude” Johnson in March 2009; and one brother, Robert Allen.

Memorials may be directed to Ascension Lutheran Church.
