THE TRI-COUNTY TIMES, Story County, Iowa, Thursday, June 24, 2010.

Lake Alfred, Florida – Mr. Wilbur Eugene “Gene” Prall, age 77, passed away on June 12, 2010 due to pancreatitis. He was born in Lovilla, Iowa to Jack and Mildred (Oswald) Prall on June 17, 1932. He served in the Air Force as a Military Police officer in Korea.

Gene married Marilyn Shaver on June 12, 1954. He passed on his 56th wedding anniversary. He worked for Sears as an appliance repairman for 19 years before moving from Maxwell, Iowa to Florida to open his own repair business in 1975.

Gene is survived by his wife Marilyn and 6 children: Robert and William Prall (both of Loveland, CO.), Deborah Prall of Lake Alfred, FL, Dianne (Mel) Bloss of Rock Springs, WI; Rebecca (David) Collier of Bartow, FL and Larry Prall of Winter Haven, FL.; 1 sister, Mildred Courtney of Missouri; 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Mildred and father, Jack; step-father, Elmer Courtney and step-mother, Mary Fisher; 1 brother, Harvey Courtney and 1 sister, Evelyn Courtney.

A private memorial Service will be held at a later date. Steele Funeral Home, Winter Haven, FL.
