MARK CAREY DIES TODAY

Mark T. Carey, 72, died at 3 a.m. today in Mary Greeley hospital where he had been taken Monday afternoon from his home at 2327 Baker. He had been ill four weeks with a heart ailment.

Funeral services are pending word from close relatives.

Mr. Carey was born Oct. 16, 1881 in Hamilton county. He farmed for 15 years in that locality. In 1925 he and his family moved to Ames where he was engaged in the interior decorating business.

He was a member of the Collegiate Methodist church.

On April 5, 1905, he was married to Petra Jennie Tolstrup in Hamilton county. She survives him. Also surviving are two sons, Vern of Lincoln, Neb., and Dean of New York; one daughter, Mrs. Neva Bridgman of Des Moines; one brother, Alben Carey of Bellingham, Wash., and one sister, Mrs. Blanche Hendrickson of Webster City.

There are five grandchildren-Jan and John Bridgman and Ronald, Barbara and Wonder Carey
