TWO RESIDENTS PASSED AWAY

FUNERALS HELD FOR MRS. A. B. ANDERSON AND S. S. RORVIG

Two local residents passed away last week, Mrs. A. B. Anderson on Thursday morning and S. S. Rorvig Friday forenoon.

Mrs. A. B. Anderson

Mrs. Caroline Anderson (nee Orton) was born at Volin, S. D., June 28, 1874. She was raised and lived there until the year 1910, when she was united in marriage to Andrew B. Anderson on June 28, in Clay county, South Dakota.

They made their home on the old A. B. Anderson homestead northeast of Nevada until the spring of 1920, when they moved to their new home in Roland.

Mr. Anderson passed away April 5, 1932. Her father and mother preceded her in death, also a step-daughter, Allie, who passed away July 3, 1924.

She leaves to mourn her passing, seven sisters and five brothers, Mrs. Hannah Larson, Redfield, S. D., Miss Lena Orton, Mrs. Amanda Ingwerson, Miss Julia Orton of Wakonda, S. D., Thomas Orton of Cherokee, Mrs. John E. Davis of Onawa, Dan, John, Paul, Clarence and Mrs. T. H. Greer of Volin, S. D., and Mrs. C. O. Greer of Walcott, N. D.

She also leaves nine step-children, Ove of Forest City, Oscar, Clarence, Amos and Mrs. Richard Anderson all of Nevada, Ervin of Roland, Mrs. Wesley Springer of McCallsburg, Mrs. C. J. Johnson of Buffalo Center and Mrs. M. N. Farland of Manly.

Miss Bertha Brekke, who has made her home with Mrs. Anderson, is also left to mourn her death.

Mrs. Anderson underwent an operation in June 1932 and has since been in failing health. She has been confined to her bed since September and was a patient sufferer until the time of her death.

The funeral was held at the Anderson home and at Bergen church Friday afternoon, Rev. M. O. Sumstad officiating. The pall bearers were six brothers of Miss Bertha Brekke, the foster daughter, Jeffrey, Amos, Howard, Earl, Milvern and Virgil Brekke. Besides the floral offerings, there were gifts to the Roland Week Day School of Religion in her memory. The body was shipped to Volin, S. D., for burial Saturday morning.

CARD OF THANKS

We wish to express our thanks to all the neighbors, friends and relatives who assisted us and showed us their sympathy during the illness and death of Mrs. A. B. Anderson. We wish to especially thank Rev. M. O. Sumstad and Rev. O. Amdalsrud for their visits and comforting words, to the Womens Chorus for singing at the funeral, and for the floral offerings and gifts to the Parochial school fund in her memory. - The Anderson family, Miss Bertha Brekke, and the Orton family.
