Kay Hanson, 69, of Slater, died April 21, 2010 at Israel Family Hospice House. Services were held Saturday, April 24 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church with Rev. Heidi Williams officiating. Burial was in the Slater City Cemetery.
Kay was born November 3, 1941 in Rodman, IA to Bennie and Dora (Montag) Allan. She married Vernon W. Hanson September 8, 1959. She was a financial clerk for Powell CDC. Kay enjoyed reading books and watching Walker, Texas Ranger and Matlock on TV. She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, the American Legion Auxiliary, Friendship Club, and WELCA at Bethlehem.
Kay is survived by her mother, Dora of Humboldt; two daughters, June (Kevin) Nicholson of Slater and Gina Coffman of Slater; one son, Michael Hanson, of Slater; seven grandchildren; one great grandchild; three sisters, Judy Slama of Fort Dodge, Carol (Denny) Rickless of Jesup, IA, and Karen (Roger) Floden of Madison, WI. She was preceded in death by her father, husband, brother, Richard Allan and sister, Janet Paulson.
Soderstrum Riis Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
