Marshall Hanson Dies Suddenly

Well Known Farmer Living Southeast of Here, After Recovering From a Siege of Pneumonia, Gets Fatally Sick During Night and Before Morning Had Breathed His Last, Funeral Tuesday

On Easter morning, people here were shocked to hear of the death of Marshall Hanson. Only the day before, they had heard that he had so far recovered from his siege of pneumonia that he was able to be around. But during the nigh, he became suddenly worse and he called the family to his beside and told them that he was about to die. Dr. Rice was summoned and every was done to save his life, but at 5:30 o'clock he passed away in peace. The cause of his death was heart failure.

Marshall Hanson was born in Norway, December 14, 1846, and about 36 years ago, he came to this country, living in Kendall County, Ill. until 26 years ago, when he moved here buying a farm southeast of town, where he still lived. On February 19, 1887 he was united in marriage to Miss Rachel Markhus, at Lisbon, Ill., Rev. P. A. Rasmusson performing the ceremony. To this union, eight children were born, two of which have preceded their father to the Eternal Home. Those living are, Mrs. Sophie Nokes, Elma, Clara, Milton, Hannah and Gladys, all of whom are staying at the parental home, except Mrs. Nokes, who lives a short distance from there.

The funeral was held on Tuesday afternoon from Salem church Rev. J. N. Sandven conducting the last sad rites over the dead. The church was filled with friends who wished to pay their last respects to a respected friend. Interment took place in the Roland cemetery. The Record extends its sincere sympathy to the sorrowing ones in the hour of their deep affliction.
