Amond Erickson Passes Away

Well Known Milford Township Citizen Dies After Many Months of Suffering - Funeral Was Held From Salem Church on Tuesday

Amond Erickson ,who has been sick at his home six miles southeast of here for many weeks from Bright's disease, died last Sunday morning Aug. 29, 1909, surrounded by his immediate family. He was born in Gjerde, Norway, Europe, Aug. 6, 1843, and was 66 years and 23 days old when death called his parents' names were Erick and Bretta Gjerde.

On July 21, 1866, he came to this country and has since lived here. On May 4, 1874, he was joined in the holy bonds of matrimony to Miss Mary Egeland, to which union eleven children were born. They are Edward B., Henry, who died Oct. 26, 1908, Bert, Mrs. Susie Hereim, Maynard, Oscar, Raly, who died some years ago, Mae, Elmer and Grace. Another daughter died while an infant. Besides these, are left numerous friends and relatives who mourn his death.

The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon from Salem church, Rev. J. Sandven officiating. A very large number of people attended the funeral to pay their last respects to the dead. There were many floral offerings. After the funeral service the remains were laid to rest in the Roland cemetery. The many friends of the sorrowing wife and children extend their most sincere sympathy in the hour of their bereavement.
