Details Regarding Terrible Accident That Killed Former Scott Township Man Near His Farm in Canada - Funeral Held Saturday

As was announced in last week's issue, the death of Oliver Anfinson had occurred near Aylesbury, Can. Just what he was doing when the accident occurred is not known, but he was working around the threshing rig, when in some way his left arm became entangled with the feeder belt, and it was torn from his body a short ways below the shoulder. The place where they were threshing was nine miles from town, from which place they secured the help of a surgeon, and by the time he arrived the young man had become very weak from loss of blood. The accident occurred on Friday, September 24th, and he passed away on the following Saturday evening.

His brother, Henry Anfinson, who lives near his place, at once made arrangements to accompany the corpse here but he failed to reach here until Friday, so that the funeral was not held on Thursday as formerly announced, but on Saturday afternoon from North St. Petri church, Rev. O. P. Vangsnes officiating. A very large gathering of people attended the funeral. Interment took place in the cemetery by the church.

The deceased was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Anfin Anfinson, living about six miles northwest of here, and grew to manhood here. Besides his parents, he leaves several brothers and sisters and numerous other relatives, to mourn his untimely and hasty death. He was a brother of Mrs. C. J. Kirkeby, of this place.
