FOUR FUNERALS WITHIN A WEEK

AN OCTOGENARIAN AND THREE YOUNG PERSONS CALLED BY DEATH

Four funerals have been conducted from the local churches the past week, three from Bergen church and one from Salem church.

Josiah Raymond, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Raymond, died Thursday at Anamosa, and the funeral was held in Salem church Saturday afternoon.

Josiah Raymond

Josiah Raymond was born on the Raymond homestead southwest of Roland on June 6, 1904, and died at Anamosa July 27, 1933, at the age of 28 years, one month and 21 days. He leaves to mourn his departure two sisters, Julia and Bertha Raymond.

He spend most of his life on his father's farm and the last five years at Anamosa. He had been confined to bed with illness the past few months.

The body was brought to Story City and the funeral was held at the Henderson Funeral Home in Story City and at Salem Luthern church in Roland on Saturday afternoon, Rev. G. O. Paulsrud of Randall officiating. Interment was made in the Roland cemetery. The pall bearers were Raymond and Sterling Sande, Orville Olson, Jeffrey Townswick, and Rufus Olson of this place, and Luther Teig of Jewell.

Those from out of town in attendance at the funeral included Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Holm and daughter Betty Lou of Rembrandt, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Goddmanson and family of Gilbert, Joseph Holm of Storm Lake, Mr. and Mrs. Lars Raymond and family of Randall, and Mr. and Mrs. Martin Teig and family of Jewell.
