Mrs. Anna Krohn

Mrs. Anna Krohn, whose maiden name was Sandvig, was born at Kvinherred, Norway, December 14, 1844, and passed away at the S. H. Twedt home on July 25, 133, at the age of 88 years, seven months and eleven days. In 1871, she came to the United States and made her home at Lisbon, Ill., where she was united in marriage to Knudt Omvig. One son was born to this union, John of Sherburn, Minn. Her husband passed away in 1877.

Following the death of her husband, she came with her son to Roland, where she was married in 1878 to Hans Krohn. For a time they resided in what is now the Oscar E. Twedt farm. To this union five children were born, three of whom died in childhood. The surviving children are Knudt E. Krohn of Webb, and Mrs. Sam H. Twedt of this place. She is also mourned by a stepson, Gerhard H. Krohn of Des Moines, eleven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. In 1885 they moved to Ruthven, where they lived for several years, later moving to Clay county, but thirty years ago they moved back to Story county, making their home with Mr. and Mrs. Sam H. Twedt. Mr. Krohn passed away in October 1920.

Funeral services were held Friday from the Twedt home and Bergen Lutheran church, Rev. M. O. Sumstad preaching the sermon. Interment took place in the Roland cemetery. The pall bearers were Herman J. Twedt, Allison Twedt, Allis Wicks, C. R. Imsland, Thorolf Severeid, Martin Severeid.

Among those from a distance at the funeral were John Krohn of Sherburn, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. K. E. Krohn of Webb, Mr. and Mrs. G. H. Krohn and children Harold and Lois, and Mr. Norem of Des Moines, Mr. and Mrs. Chas.
