Death Angel Enters Homes

Miss Bertha Anderson and Mrs. Gunder Larson Are Laid to Rest, Many People Attend Funerals

On Thursday, March 25, 1909, occurred the death of Miss Bertha Olene Anderson at the home of her parents northeast of town. The deceased had been sick just ten months, and the last two weeks of her life death had been expected almost hourly, the cause of her death being dilation of the heart.

Bertha Anderson was born February 22, 1884 in Benton County, Iowa and was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. M. A. Anderson. When but a child she came with her parents to Hardin County where they have since resided. Besides her parents, she leaves two brothers Ed and Walter, and two sisters, Mrs. O. K. Johnson and Mattie, to mourn her untimely death. All of them were at her bedside when she passed away, except her brother Ed, who has gone to his home for a short errand a short while before.

The funeral was held Saturday from Zion church, Rev. J. N. Sandven of this place, officiating. The sincere sympathy of a host of friends is extended to the sorrowing ones.
