Death Claims Joe J. Twedt

Was Sick Only Few Days, When He Passed Away. Leaves Large Circle of Friends and Relatives

People were shocked last Tues. morning to hear that Joe J. Twedt was dead. But a few days before he had been in town seemingly as healthy as anyone and now he is numbered with the dead. Mr. Twedt was taken sick last Thursday with dysentery but he was not seriously ill, until Sunday night when it took a turn for the worse, the final summons coming at midnight Monday night.

Joe J. Twedt was born in Norway, March 17, 1853 and came to this country with his parents in 1866. On February 2, 1881 he was married to Miss Christine Watney, who now with their four children, Josiash, Alfred, Sadie and Clara mourn his death. Their son Alfred, who moved to Ricardo, New Mexico a few weeks ago is expected home in time for the funeral. Besides his immediate family he leaves three brothers, John, Ole J. and Abel and a sister, Mrs. A. S. Helvig, besides a large host of friends and relatives. Another sister Mrs. A. Sampson died some years ago.

The funeral will be held Saturday afternoon at two 0'clock from Salem church after which interment will take place at the Roland cemetery. The bereaved ones have the sincere sympathy of a large number of friends.

Funeral of Joe J. Twedt

On Saturday afternoon at Salem church occurred the funeral of Joe J. Twedt, who died Sept. 21st. The church was very beautifully decorated with potted flowers and the floral offering were many and extremely pretty. Rev. J. N. Sandven preached a powerful and impressive funeral sermon, after which a quartette sang, "It is Well With My Soul". The church was filled to overflowing with friends and neighbors, who wished to pay their last tribute to the dead. Interment took place in the Roland cemetery.
