Dorothy M. Jacobson, 89, of Story City died March 5, 2010 at Bethany Manor in Story City. Funeral services were held Monday, March 8 at 1:30 p.m. at St. Petri Lutheran Church in Story City. Burial was in the Story City Cemetery. Visitation was Sunday, March 7 from 3 to 5 p.m. at Soderstrum Funeral Home in Story City.

Dorothy was born April 14, 1920 near Story City to Magnus and Beulah (Oswald) Horness. She married Arnold H. Jacobson on June 19, 1940. He died May 1, 1986.

Dorothy worked as a nurses aide at the Story City Hospital for 28 years. She was a member of St. Petri Lutheran Church and 40 and 8 club. Dorothy enjoyed walking, collecting dolls and liked to entertain.

Dorothy is survived by her son, Paul (Karen) Jacobson of Story City; a son-in-law, Dale Crosbie of San Deigo, California; two grandchildren, Brian Jacobson of Chicago, Illinois and Scott Crosbie of San Deigo, California; and a brother, Ervin Horness of Boulder City, Nevada.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a daughter, Katherine Diane Crosbie; a brother, Duane Horness and a sister, Gladys Davis.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Petri Lutheran Church for music.
