THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Saturday, March 13, 2010.

, 63, went home to be with Our Lord on Thursday, March 11, 2010.

Visitation will be 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, March 14 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola. Family will be present from 3 to 5 p.m..

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 15, at the Trinity-United Presbyterian Church of Indianola. The family will receive visitors following services at the church. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Monday at South St. Petri Cemetery of Gilbert, Iowa. Family will receive visitors after the interment at the Gilbert Lutheran Church.

Mary was born July 11, 1946, in Ames to Lester and Gladys Peterson, and married Bill Lile Dec. 14, 1963.

Mary grew up on a farm near Gilbert and graduated from Gilbert High School.

She spent most of her married life in the Des Moines area.

Mary led by example with her strong Christian faith in the Lord. She was a member of Trinity United Presbyterian Church of Indianola and Ackworth Garden Club.

She loved her husband, children and especially her grandchildren.

She loved camping, entering items at Pioneer Hall during the Iowa State Fair, fireworks, watching the Indianola Balloon Races from her backyard and watching Iowa State Basketball.

Mary fought a long battle with a rare liver disease. She was a strong advocate of organ donation. She is loved by many and will be greatly missed.

Survivors include her husband of 46 years, Bill; sons, Jim (Helen) Lile, Mark (Karen) Lile, Jeff (Mary) Lile; six grandchildren, Devin, Kelsey, Andrew, Kristy, Nathan, and Jillian; stepmother, Donna Peterson; brothers, Ron (Carol) and Loren (Laura); sister-in-law, Carolyn (Jim) Hoagland; stepsisters, Marcia (Hap) Steed and Nancy (Bob) Landess; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Gladys Peterson.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Trinity-United Presbyterian Church of Indianola and Hospice of Central Iowa. Online condolences may be sent at www.overtonfunerals.com.
