THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Friday, March 12, 2010.

Philip Jackson Coy, 91, passed away Friday, March 5, 2010, in Loma Linda, Calif. Private burial of the cremains will be at a later date in Ames.

Jack was born Aug. 21, 1918, and was a lifelong resident of Ames. After finishing high school, he joined his father in the home building business, Phil Coy & Sons, and he was a lifelong active member of Seventh Day Adventist Church. He married Elizabeth (Betty) Rees Jan. 15, 1940.

Left missing him are two sisters, Phyllis Coy, of Ames, and Patricia Swenson, of Florida; one brother, Hugh, of Washington; one daughter Bettejean Hockridge, of Minneapolis; one son, Philip Coy, of Redlands, Calif.; three grandchildren, Kym Lavitschke, Michelle DesJardin and Jennifer Pool; and two great-grandchildren, Lexi and Max.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty; and one brother, Richard.
