Julia A. Ingersoll, the subject of this sketch, was born at Pittsburgh, Pa., Oct. 12, 1837. In the 15th year of her age she emigrated with her parents, three sisters and two brothers, to Story county, Iowa. She was married on May 12th, 1861, to M. D. Cory, who died at Corinth, Miss., in 1863. She was married June 10th, 1869, to Dr. A. P. Henderson of Iowa Center, Iowa. In the fall of 1872, she with her family came to Missouri. At teh age of 22 years she embraced the religion of Christ, and united with the M. E. Church, since which time she has been a faithful and devoted christian, a kind companion and loving and affectionate mother. The disease which terminated her earthly existence was cancer, located in the right breast, from which she suffered for many long months, much of the time her suffering was intense, which she endured with christian fortitude, till February 10th, 1879, when she, the last of her father's family, fell asleep in Jesus, aged 41 years, 3 months and 28 days. She leaves a companion and five children, with many warm friends to mourn her absence. "Blessed are the dead which [...] in the Lord." Doubtless she "re [...] from" her "labors" and her "wor [...] follow" her.
