Jason Peter McKernan, 43, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2010, at his home in Clearwater, Fla. A celebration of Jason’s life will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 6, at 1050 Charles St., Clearwater, Fla.

Jason was born Aug. 9, 1966, in Ames, to Elizabeth Ann McKernan and John Faber McKernan Jr. Jason was warm, generous and full of life. He enjoyed family, custom cabinetry work, fishing and music.

Jason is survived by his mother, Elizabeth McKernan; brothers, Gregory, wife Michelle and family, Brian, Sean, wife Sandra and family, and Garth and family; sisters, Karen, Cynthia Love, husband Robert and family, Martha Arneson, husband Dennis and family, Pamela Hollingsworth, husband James and family, and Kimberly Hoerner, husband Michael; half-brother, Montgomery; half-sisters, Devon, Jennifer Nwoke, husband Chibuzor, Katrina, Valarie, and Rachel; stepmother, Judith McKernan; and aunts and uncles.

Jason was preceded in death by his father, John McKernan Jr.; and brothers, Michael and Matthew McKernan.
