Bennie K. Hall, age 95, of Alden, died on Friday, Dec. 25, 2009 at the Heritage Care Center in Iowa Falls. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 29 at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Williams with burial in the Buckeye Cemetery. Visitation was held from 4 - 7 p.m.. Monday, Dec. 28 at the Surls Funeral Home in Alden with family receiving friends from 5-7 p.m. A memorial fund has been established.

Bennie was born on January 10, 1914 on a farm in Story County, Iowa. He lived in Story County until he moved to a farm near Ellsworth. His parents were Gudman and Sophia (Eike) Hall. Ben was one of ten children, five boys and five girls.

On April 15, 1938 he married Agnes Irene Lura of Garden City in McCallsburg. They had two children, Sharon and Merlyn. Bennie and Agnes lived on a farm in Hamilton Co. for many years. In 1947 they moved to their farm near Buckeye. In 1983 they moved to their house in Alden. Bennie was a member of the St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Williams. He enjoyed farming, and actively farmed until he was 90 and still helped until he was 95. He also did some custom trucking in the Buckeye area.

Bennie is survived by his children, Sharon Garcia of Iowa Falls and Merlyn and his wife, Julia of Alden; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; four brothers, John, Silas, Joseph, and George; five sisters Bertha, Esther, Mayme, Gladys, and Sadie; and a son in-law, Joe Garcia.
