THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Tuesday, February 2, 2010.

Rick Cordes, 60, of Roland, passed away Saturday, Jan. 30, 2010, of complications from a stroke. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 2, at Adams Funeral Home in Ames. The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 3, also at Adams Funeral Home.

Rick was born Aug. 4, 1949, in Marshalltown, to Mildred and Stanley Cordes. He worked as a computer and network support specialist at Iowa State University for 31 years and was active in woodworking and camera clubs.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 30 years, Vicki Cordes; two children, Rob (Julie) Hannusch, of West Des Moines, and Shelly (Doug) Olsan, of Huxley; five grandsons; his mother; and two brothers.
