Rose Warren, 78, of Ames, died Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2010. Services are pending with Stevens Memorial Chapel in Ames.

Rose Marie (Larson) Warren, 78, of Ames, died Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2010, at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 18, with a vigil service at 6:30 p.m., at Stevens Memorial Chapel in Ames. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 19, at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, with Father James Secora presiding. Burial will be in Story Memorial Gardens.

Rose was born Oct. 22, 1931, in Nevada, to Clifford and Alice (McDonald) Larson. On Oct. 16, 1947, she married Lloyd “Bud” Warren in Princeton, Mo. In 2000, she retired from McFarland Clinic after 20 years of employment. Rose was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church and the Catholic Daughters. Her special interest was researching family genealogy, which spanned over 40 years and included a trip to Ireland. She and her good friend, Howard Clemens, enjoyed ballroom dancing at Lake Robbins, Stratford and Heartland Senior Citizen Center. Rose treasured spending time with her family and always enjoyed a good game of cards.

She is survived by three daughters, Deborah Larson, of Oskaloosa, Denise Warren, of Waukee, and Duree (Matt) Cooper, of Eva, Ala.; two sons, Dale Warren, of Boyd, Wis., and David (Sheri) Warren, of Colorado Springs, Colo.; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; six sisters, Virginia (Richard) Ullrick, of Ames, Lois (Glen) Brown, of Ames, Evelyn Frier, of Peoria, Ill., Edna Whetstone, of Ames, Ada (Frank) Frodyma, of Downers Grove, Ill., and Eileen (Donald) Brennan, of Boone; and two brothers, Lee (Erma) Larson, of Veneta, Ore., and Robert (Joyce) Larson, of Ames.

Rose was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, “Bud;” two sons, John and Lloyd Ronald “Ronnie” Jr.; two brothers, Chet and Cliff Larson; and two sisters, Mary Belle Larson and Vivien Anderson.
