THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Thursday, January 7, 2010.
Bonnie L. Satre, 77, of Story City, passed away Thursday, Jan. 7, 2010, at Israel Family Hospice House in Ames. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 11, at St. Petri Lutheran Church in Story City. Burial will be in Story City Municipal Cemetery.
Visitation of family and friends will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 10, in the fellowship hall at St. Petri.
Bonnie was born Jan. 27, 1932, in Jackson, Minn., to Thomas and Lillian (Jensen) Olson. She was a school teacher for nine years. Bonnie married John Satre June 21, 1959. They were owners and operators of Johns I-35 Restaurant from 1973 to 1990 in Story City.
She is survived by her husband, John, of Story City; her daughters, Ann (Mike) Healy, of Story City, and Sharon (Doug) Mackey, of Huxley; her son, Tom (Sheri) Satre, of Sauk Rapids, Minn.; one brother; one sister; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; and three sisters.
The family has requested in lieu of flowers memorial gifts be designated to Israel Family Hospice House or St. Petri Lutheran Church.
Soderstrum Funeral Home in Story City is in charge of arrangements.
