THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Thursday, January 7, 2010.

Betty Meredith Merrick passed away peacefully in her sleep Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2010. Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 9, at Adams Funeral Home.

Betty was born July 5, 1931, in Des Moines. During her life, she worked and lived in Washington, D.C.; Montreal, Canada; Lenexa, Kan.; and spent the last 28 years residing in Ames.

She was loved and will be missed by her two brothers, LaVern Meredith and Donald Meredith, both of Des Moines; three nieces and their husbands, Kimberly Otto (Gary), of Belleair Beach, Fla., Lisa Meredith, of Des Moines, and Jennifer Callahan (Scot), of Nashville, Tenn.; four grandnephews, Nicholas Otto, Ryan Meredith, Michael Jergens and Matthew Callahan; and one grandniece, Jenna Jergens.
