THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Tuesday, December 22, 2009.

Paul Hall, 71, of Ogden and most recently of Boone, died Sunday, Dec. 20, 2009, at the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 23, at Heartland Baptist Church, 3504 Grand Ave., in Ames. Following the service, Paul’s body will be cremated and burial of his cremains will be in the Linwood Park Cemetery in Boone at a later date.

Friends may call from 1 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 22, at Schroeder Memorial Chapel at Sixth and Marshall in Boone, where the family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m. Visitation will continue from 10 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the church.

Paul Dean Hall was born Dec. 12, 1938, in Marshalltown, the son of Clinton and Cecile (Andrews) Hall. Paul served with the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was a self employed bricklayer, retiring in 2007. Paul married Mary Lou Dean on June 5, 1964, in Boone. Paul was a member of Heartland Baptist Church in Ames.

He is survived by his wife, Mary, of Boone; a sister, Rosemary Hall, of Boone; a brother-in-law, Gary (Paula) Dean, of Davenport; two sisters-in-law, Marilyn Hall, of Marshalltown, and Shirley Hall, of Denver, Colo.; 23 nieces and nephews; and seven godchildren.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, Francis, Willard, Donald and Kenneth Hall.

Memorials may be directed to the family to be used at their discretion.
