THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Tuesday, December 22, 2009.

Jamie Elizabeth Otis, 60 of Ames, passed away Friday, Dec. 18, 2009, at Mary Greeley Medical Center. She has been cremated, and services will be held at a later date.

Jamie was born July 9, 1949, to Charles Allen and Annie Marie (Brewer) Crockett, in Kansas City, Kan. She earned a degree in English literature from the University of Kansas.

She is survived by her husband of 37 years, David, of Ames; daughter, Kelsey Otis and fiancé, Brian Holt, of Boston, Mass.; brothers, John Crockett, of Mission, Kan., and Bill Crockett and wife, Brenda, of Mill Valley, Calif.; mother-in-law, Pat Otis, of Ottumwa; one niece; and five nephews. Jamie will be dearly missed by her family and the lifelong friends she made during her life in Kansas, Colorado, Utah, New York, South Carolina and Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
