REAL ESTATE MAN IS DEAD

Elmer E. Sowers, 1012 Marston, died Thursday, at 12:25 p.m. in a Des Moines hospital where he had been taken two days before. He had been ill several months with arterio sclerosis.

Mr. Sowers who was 81 was born and lived in Story county all of his life and had been in the real estate and insurance business in Ames for many years. He was a member of the Congregational church and of the Masonic lodge.

He was married June 16, 1898, to Margaret Watts at Ames. She preceded him in death in 1936. He married Laura Kyle, July 15, 1939 at Nevada, and she died in 1951. Mr. Sowers is survived by a son, Frank, in Sierra Madras, Calif.
