THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Thursday, October 29, 2009.

Carol Jolene Spencer, 59, of Ames, died Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2009. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, at Stevens Memorial Chapel in Ames, with Pastor Lynn Elrod officiating. The family will greet friends from 9 to 10 a.m. prior to the service.

Carol was born March 26, 1950, in Ames, to Archie and Lois L. Anderson. She graduated from Ames High School in 1968. She married Michael Spencer Aug. 12, 1983.

She was a member of Church of God Evangelistic Association in Waxahachie, Texas. She enjoyed painting on velvet and loved her cat.

She is survived by her husband, Michael Spencer, of Ames; two sons, Jim (Nora) Anderson, of Sarasota, Fla., and Jeremy Anderson, USMC, Marimar, Calif.; her mother, Lois L. Anderson, of Ames; one sister, Sharon (Denzil) Acuff, of Boone; two brothers, Carl (Deb) Anderson, of San Rafael, Calif., and Glen (Mitzi) Anderson, of Rochester, Ind.; her mother-in-law, Eva Spencer, of Nevada; two brothers-in-law, Howard (Jenny) Spencer, of Zearing, and Charles Spencer, of Nevada; one sister-in-law, Karla (Gary) Breer, of Nevada; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, grandparents and father-in-law.
