Carol was born Jan. 15, 1954, in Eldora, the daughter of Glen and Lois (Handeland) Brandt. She married Philip Cacek June 9, 1984, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. She graduated from Nevada High School in 1972. She had worked in computer operations for both RH Donnelley Marketing from 1974 to 1997 and 1997 to 2009 at ITS Inc. (Shazam). She was a member of Nevada Baptist Church. She loved her family very much. She enjoyed serving in her church and providing goodies for her friends and co-workers. She enjoyed sports, but in spite of her family’s many efforts, she never caught the fishing bug. She really loved God’s creation, but she especially enjoyed blue oceans and sandy beaches.

She is survived by her husband, Phil, of Nevada; two sons, Joshua (Andrea) Blythe, of Ames, and Nicholas Cacek, of Ames; one grandson, Anthony Philip Blythe; and one sister, Linda (Jim) Haberer, of Ogden.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Nathan Blythe; and one brother, Michael Brandt.

Bacon Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
