THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Tuesday, September 8, 2009.

Jennifer Ambrose, 86, of McCallsburg, died Monday, Sept. 7, 2009, at Israel Family Hospice House in Ames. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 11, at Stavanger Free Lutheran Church in Garden City, where she was a member. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 10, at Fredregill Funeral Home in Zearing.

Jennifer was born Feb. 28, 1923, in rural McCallsburg to Jacob and Amy (Holm) Gjerde on a farm south of town. She was baptized and confirmed at Bethany Lutheran Church in McCallsburg, graduated from McCallsburg School and attended business school in Des Moines.

She is survived by one daughter, Cindy Lou, and her husband, Andy Olson, of Orange Beach, Ala.; one stepson, Mark Ambrose, of Nevada; and one sister, Birdelle Post, also of Nevada. Also surviving is one cousin, JoAnn Gentilini, of Gurnee, Ill., and close friends Rich, Nanette and Lexy Bergdahl, of Kirkland, Wash.

She was preceded in death by her husband, brother and parents.

Fredregill Funeral Home in Zearing is in charge of arrangements.
