Paul G. "Bud" Brown died Wednesday, August 12, 2009 at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. Bud was born April 2, 1923 in Story City. He was the son of Grant and Cora (Madden) Brown, and the youngest of nine children. He married Mildred Biggerstaff on August 30, 1945 and farmed in this area until they moved in 1959. He worked 30 years at the USDA. After retirement he enjoyed burning wood by the lake and crafting wood silhouettes. In his spare time he liked to travel and spend time with his family. He attended services at Harvest Evangelical Free Church in Story City.

He was preceded in death by his parents and five brothers and two sisters. He is survived by one sister.

Bud is also survived by his wife; daughter, Bettina Ruleman, and husband, Gary, of Weyers Cove, VA; son, Drexel Brown, and wife, Kathy, of Timberville, VA; daughter, Melody Griffin, and husband, Nathan, of Boone, IA. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, six great-
grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
