Marian Lynette Bowen Littleton, 88, died Tuesday, Aug. 25, at Story County Long Term Care, Nevada. Memorial services are pending with Bacon Funeral Home and Crematory.

Marian Lynette Bowen Littleton, 88, of Nevada, died Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2009, at Story County Hospital and Long Term Care Facility in Nevada. A service is pending until all out-of-state relatives and friends are contacted. Interment will be at Maxwell Cemetery.
She was born Jan. 16, 1921, to Maurice Sidney Bowen (1894-1965) and his wife, Bertha Clara Askland (1894-1985), at her parents’ home in Maxwell. She was baptized in the First Presbyterian Church in Maxwell and was a graduate of Maxwell High School. On Sept. 21, 1944, she married Lt. Colonel Donald Andrew Littleton (1910-1978) of Denver, Colo., a career U.S.A.F. officer, in Sacramento, Calif. For many years she was a secretary at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. She was the secretary for the Central Presbyterian Church in Nevada, and a volunteer at the Story County Hospital gift shop.
Survivors include her sister, Mary Ellen Bowen Borts, of Waterford Assisted Care Living in Ames; four nieces, Sheryl Askland Rock, of New York City, N.Y., Nancy Lee Cline, of North Port, Fla., Mary Charlene Smith, of New York City, N.Y., and Karen Kay Jesus, of Grand Prairie, Texas; and two nephews, Larry Wayne Lafferty, of Colfax, and Jerry Lee Lafferty, of Carlisle.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Ruth Elizabeth Bowen Lafferty (1918-1976); and two brothers, Robert Askland Bowen (1914-1986) and Richard Maurice Bowen (1915-2001).
