Bonnie J. McLaughlin, 85, of Mason City, died Friday, Aug. 21, 2009. Services are pending with Stevens Memorial Chapel in Ames.

Bonnie J. McLaughlin passed away Friday, Aug. 21, at the North Iowa Hospice Center, Mason City, of a brain tumor. She departed this life to join her beloved husband of 50 years, Cyrus V. McLaughlin, and they are together again at last. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 25, at Stevens Memorial Chapel in Ames. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 24, at Stevens Memorial Chapel.

Bonnie was born May 26, 1924, in Ames, to Leslie and Mary Belle O'Brien. She was preceded in death by both her parents, her husband, and one sister, Patty Jo Dale.

Bonnie and “Mac” lived in Ames for many years prior to 1971 when they purchased a home and made so very many loving and cherished friends at Lakeside Acres Mobile Home Park in Clear Lake.

She is survived by her son, Michael James, and his wife, Molly, of El Paso, Texas; grandson, Scott Alan, and wife, Jamie; three great-grand children, Corwin, Faith and Tara, all of Wylie, Texas; Kelly Michael, of Keller, Texas; USAF Capt. Patrick, and his wife, Michelle, of Summerville, S.C.; and her sister, Jan O'Brien, of Corpus Christi, Texas; along with many loving nieces and nephews.
