THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Tuesday, August 11, 2009.

Robert Y. Inouye, 76, of Roland, died Saturday, Aug. 8, 2009, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 12, at St. Petri Lutheran Church in Story City.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 11, at Soderstrum Funeral Home in Story City.

Bob was born Jan. 28, 1933, in Waimea, Kauai, Hawaii. He married Muriel (Shearer) Williams Oct. 13, 1973, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua.

He is survived by his wife, Muriel, of Roland; two sons, Michael (Rachel), of Waukesha, Wis., and Robert M. (Terri), of Cedar Falls; two daughters, Susan (Ken) Tarter, of Gaithersburg, Md., and Michelle (Lance) Reisetter, of Northfield, Minn.; grandchildren, Sam Tarter, Michael, Andrew and Grace Inouye; Erin Inouye and Derek (Ali) Thompson; and Adam and Aaron Reisetter; and one great-granddaughter, Sydney Thompson. He also is survived by two brothers, Wallace (Jeannie) and Charles (Lorraine) Inouye; and two sisters, Violet (Lloyd) Wananabe and Mabel Kitamata.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ichiro and Aikiyo Inouye; and two sisters, Bessie and Ellen Masuno Inouye.
