THE STORY CITY HERALD, Story City, Story County, Iowa, Wednesday, June 10, 2009.

Mary "Peggy" Voga, age 93, formerly of Ellsworth, died Saturday, May 30, 2009 at the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames. Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 2, 2009 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Ellsworth. Burial followed at Homewood Cemetery in Ellsworth. Visitation was one hour prior to services at the church. Memorials may be given to the Israel Family Hospice House, Riverside Bible Camp or Trinity Lutheran Church. Becker Funeral and Cremation Service of Jewell cared for Peggy and her family.

Mary Elizabeth Brinton was born Nov. 7, 1915, the daughter of Scott and Mabelle (Lindebak) Brinton. She lived in Hamilton County until she retired in 1977 and moved to Apache Junction, Arizona spending the winters there until 1996, when she moved there permanently. Peggy married Russell James Voga in 1933. She worked at Story City Memorial Hospital as a nurse's aide and at Iowa State University in the Veterinary Microbiology department as a technician.

Peggy was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Ellsworth and an honorary member of the Ellsworth Study Club. She was an associate member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Mesa, Arizona and belonged to Martha Circle.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Scott and Mabelle Brinton; four brothers, Homer, Wayne, William, and Clare; her husband; Russell J. Voga Sr.; her daughter, Elizabeth "Beth" Blaine; and her grandson, Kent Charlson.

Peggy is survived by her son, R. James (Berniece) Voga Jr. of Story City; her daughter, Judith (David) Charlson of Ames; son-in-law, Bill Blaine of Mesa, Arizona; brother, Gene (Nola) Brinton of Spicer, Minnesota; six grandchildren, Kevin (Patty), Karen (Brad), Kris (Mike), Scott, Ann, and Mark; granddaughter-in-law Barb; eleven great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; and three great-greatgrandchildren.
