Irving Victor Radabaugh May 29, 1922, to July 29, 2002
Irving Victor Radabaugh, 80, of Nevada, died of kidney failure on Monday, July 29, at the Story County Long Term Care in Nevada where he had been a resident since January 2002.
He was born on May 29, 1922, in Alden to Freeman A. and Lillian B. (Tordoff) Radabaugh. He married Christina M. Andersen on Oct. 26, 1941, in Albert Lea, Minn. From 1940 to 1970 he farmed in the Hampton, Sheffield, Alden and Ames areas and moved to Pompano Beach, Fla., in 1970. He was in maintenance at a Senior Mobile home park while in Florida. He attended Memorial Lutheran church in Nevada and was an auto racing fan. He moved back to Iowa in 2000.
Survivors include five sisters, Iola Meyers of Iowa Falls, Eva Wepel of Ankeny, Patricia Bunch of Des Moines, Phyllis Wyatt and Sheryl Helton both of Marshalltown; two grandchildren, Rick Borton of Nevada and Jackie Borton of Neoga, Ill.; and three great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Christina on May 4, 2000, a son Donny Radabaugh in 1961, and a daughter, Janice Borton on Oct. 25, 1969.
The body has been cremated and memorial graveside services will be held at a later date in the Ames Municipal Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established and may be directed in care of Rick Borton, 17941 620th Ave. Nevada. Chet Ryan Mortuary in Nevada is handling arrangements.
