ROBERT THOMPSON

Robert H. "Tommy" Thompson, 59, of Nevada, died Monday, Sept. 6, 1982 at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames.

He was born Nov. 14, 1922 in Ellsworth, Iowa, the son on Porter and Anna Maland Thompson, and attended school at Randall, Iowa.

On June 18, 1944, he married Dorothy Stemler in Nevada, and the couple have lived in Nevada since that time. Mr. Thompson worked as a farm hand and as a mechanic for Ryerson Implement Co.

He was a member of Salem Lutheran Church, Roland, and the Moose Lodge No. 520, Ames.

Mr. Thompson is survived by his wife, Dorothy; two sons, Stephen of Rhodes and Scott of Nevada; two daughters, Sharon Chitty of Maxwell and Sandrea Olson of Nevada; a brother, Blanchard Thompson of Story City; a sister, Loraine Sondal of Roland; his mother, Anna Thompson of Story City; and 12 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 9, at the Ryan Funeral Home, Nevada, with Rev. Walter Lack officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Memory Gardens, Nevada.

The family will be at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m.
