Michael David Jacobson Nov. 8, 1953, to Feb. 15, 2002
Michael D. "Jake" Jacobson, 48, of Nevada died of a brain tumor on Friday, Feb. 15, at Story County Long Term Care in Nevada.
He was born Nov. 8, 1953, in Nevada to Jordan and Ethel J. (Wakeham) Jacobson. He was a 1971 graduate of Nevada High School and was employed in the maintenance department at Ames Middle School. He enjoyed carpentry and playing his guitar. He was a lifelong resident of Nevada.
Survivors include four sisters, Norma Okland of Ames, Shirley Carmack of Nevada, Marlene Ball of Des Moines and Beverly Jacobson of Orlando, Fla.; five brothers, Dick Opperman of Nevada, Jack Opperman of Niceville, Fla., Dale "Butch" Jacobson of Cambridge, Bob Opperman of Byers, Colo., and Jordan "Junior" Jacobson of Keensburg, Colo.
He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Bill Opperman on Aug. 9, 1944.
Graveside memorial services were held Tuesday, Feb. 19, at Evergreen Memory Gardens in Nevada with Pastor David Burling officiating. A memorial fund has been established. Chet Ryan Mortuary, Nevada, handled the arrangements.
