Jonathan “Jon” Chance Miller, 24, of Ames, died Friday, May 22, 2009, in Ames. A memorial service will be at 4 p.m. Saturday, May 30, at First Baptist Church, 200 Lynn Ave., in Ames, with the Rev. Dave Russell officiating. Interment was Wednesday, May 27, at Great Bend Cemetery in Great Bend, Kan.
Jonathan “Jon” Chance Miller was born Oct. 3, 1984, at Hattiesburg, Miss., to Carl Miller and Carla Ann Franklin Wiedmier. He was a resident of Ames for six years, coming from Pella. He was a contractor for FMC Masonry and attended First Baptist Church in Ames. He was an avid softball player and an Oklahoma Sooner Fan.
He is survived by his father, Carl Miller and wife, Susan, of Great Bend, Kan.; his mother, Carla Wiedmier, of Stillwater, Okla.; one brother, Nathan Miller, of Great Bend, Kan.; three sisters, Katie Maloney, of Overland Park, Kan., and Brittanie Miller and Faith Miller, both of Great Bend, Kan.; his maternal grandmother, Sylvia Barrett, of Brandon, Miss.; his paternal grandmother, Betty Kidd, of Goshen, Ind.; his maternal great-grandmother, Ruby Wallace, of Morton, Miss.; his paternal great-grandmother, Mary Davis, of Goshen, Ind.; his paternal step-grandmother, Nancy Miller, of Petal, Miss.; and his paternal step-grandparents, Keith and Patricia Forssberg, of Logan, Kan.
Memorials may be directed to First Southern Baptist Church in Great Bend, Kan., or Community and Family Resources in Ames, in care of Bryant Funeral Home, 1425 Patton Road, Great Bend, KS, 67530.
