Donald Floyd Dunahoo Aug. 29, 1917 - June 9, 1998

Donald Floyd Dunahoo, 80, of Nevada, died of cancer Tuesday at his home. Funeral services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Nevada United Methodist Church, with the Rev. James King officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Garden Cemetery near Nevada.

Donald Floyd Dunahoo was born in Iowa Center to Floyd and Susie (Tillotson) Dunahoo. He attended rural school in Cambridge. On June 10, 1938, he married Barbara Troutner in Boone. He farmed for many years and had also worked as a grounds keeper for Iowa State University for 15 years, retiring in 1980. He loved going to the family farm in Missouri and also loved flowers.

Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Joyce Ridgway of Nevada; five sons, Larry Dunahoo of Nevada, Leo Dunahoo of Story City, Darrell Dunahoo of Mattoon, Ill., Don Dunahoo of Glenwood, and Marvin Scherr of Ames; one brother, Guy Dunahoo of Des Moines; 12 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by seven brothers, four sisters and two granddaughters.

Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Friday at the Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada, with the family present from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

Memorials may be made to hospice nurses and personnel.
