THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Wednesday, April 29, 2009.

Yvonne Signs Crabb, 86, of Collins, died Monday, April 27, 2009, at Hubbard Care Center. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 30, at Collins United Methodist Church. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 29, at Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada.

Yvonne was born June 23, 1922, in Collins, the daughter of Wayne and Esther (Stratton) Signs. She graduated from Collins High School in 1939. She married John Crabb Dec. 26, 1939, in Des Moines. He preceded her in death on Sept. 8, 2003.

She was a member of Collins United Methodist Church and the Order of Eastern Star and had been on many lady bowling league teams throughout the years. She also loved to play bridge, golf, watch her boys play sports, be at social gatherings and events, and watch and listen to Hawkeye basketball and football. She loved her family and friends.

She is survived by five sons, Jim Crabb and Sandra Stong-Crabb, of Ankeny, Bob and Brenda Crabb, of New Providence, Jerry and Linda Crabb, of Port Orchard, Wash., John Crabb, of Collins, and Bill Crabb, of Collins; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one sister, Doris Flo Saf, of Des Moines; and one stepbrother, Gene Warren, of Oklahoma City.

She was preceded in death by her father, Wayne Signs; her mother and stepfather, Esther and Stanley Warren; her husband, John Crabb; one great-grandson, Jonathan Crabb; and one sister, Bonnie Boeckel.

Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada is in charge of arrangements.
