Arnold C. Munson was born March 17, 1925 near Ellsworth, Iowa to Arthur B. Munson and Clara A. Olson Munson. He was baptized and confirmed while living in the Ellsworth community. Arnold and his parents moved to a farm south of Roland in 1939, where Arnold made his home until his death.
Arnold was united in marriage to Wilma Hartman on March 10, 1946, in Marshalltown, Iowa.
Arnold was a member of Salem Lutheran Church, Sunday School Treasurer, an avid gardener, bowler, and enjoyed collecting minature farm machinery. Farming had been his life. He graduated from Milford Twp. High School and later was the head bus driver for the school. For the past 17 years of his working life he was also employed by Ames Community Schools, retiring in 1990.
Arnold died on Wednesday evening, August 18, 1999, at Mary Greeley Hospital in Ames, at the age of 74 years 5 months and 1 day. Survivors include: wife: Wilma Munson of RR, Nevada, Iowa; daughter: Kathi Vaezi of Hackettstown, New Jersey; daughter: Carol Strom of Jewell, Iowa; 3 granddaughters: Sarah; Holly; and Tara.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 1 son: David Munson; infant granddaughter: Ashley; 1 brother: Vernon Munson.
