Died: September 23, 2004 Black Canyon, Arizona

Paul R. "Dick" Comfort, 79, passed away September 23, 2004. He is survived by his wife, Trula, of 58 years. Daughter, Lavonna Jayne (Claudio) Infusino of Glendale Heights, IL; Son, Fred Wayne (Sharon) Comfort of Goodyear, AZ; Daughter, Rebecca Elayne (Tommy) Grantland of Euless, TX. Four grandsons: John (Christine) Stern of Carol Springs, IL; "Jay" (Heather) Grantland of Ft. Worth, TX; "Beau" Grantland of New York City, NY; Christopher Infusino of Glendale Heights, IL. Four great-granddaughters Kelly, Brittany & Trinity Stern of Illinois and Camry Grantland of Texas. One sister Harriet (Chester) Whitmore of Boone, IA.

Dick was a graduate of Milford Township Consolidated School in 1942. He served in the Navy during WWII as a pilot of PBYs on search and rescue missions. He served 20 years on the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office, past commander of the M.C.S.O. Air Posse. He was Fixed Base operator of Fram Field Aviation on 99th Ave. and Glendale Ave. for 30 years. Upon retirement in 1985, he moved to Black Canyon City where he was active in many community activities including serving as President of the Black Canyon City Community Association for several years. He dearly loved Black Canyon City and the surrounding countryside.

Memorial services will be held on October 5, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at the Black Canyon City Community Church in Black Canyon City. The family requests contributions in lieu of flowers to the Black Canyon City Community Church. Private cremation arrangements made by Menke Funeral Home of Sun City, AZ.
