Mrs. Hyler, 79, Resident Here 28 Years, Dies

Mrs. Rhoda Hyler, 79, of 323 South Second street, a resident of Ames for 23 years, died at the Mary Greeley hospital at 2:50 p. m., Sunday, following an operation a week ago.

Mrs. Hyler was born in Vinton county, Ohio, Feb 23, 1857. The Hylers came to Ames 28 years ago and have resided at the same home all that time. She was a member of the United Brethren church.

Surviving here are her husband, B. Hyler: one son, Joe Hyler of Swea City, one daughter, Mrs. Cliff Conway of Fairmont, Minn., and three sisters, Mrs. Anderson Haines of Estherville, Mrs. Kate Lacey of Des Moines and Mrs. D. M. Dabiels of Newton. Also six grandchildren, Joe Hyler of Ames, Forrest, Donald and Harry Hyler of Des Moines, Byrl Hyler of Swea City and Howard Conway of Fairmont, Minn.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p. m., Tuesday from the United Brethren church with the Rev. E. L. Shaffer in charge. Burial will be at the Ames cemetery. The body will lie in state at the Duckworth Funeral home from 7 to 9 p. m. Monday.
